The raw bit next to the nail on the ring finger is due to the surgeon removing the nail matrix from the additional finger Josh has in between the two.

The neighbor who is helping with the dressing is the senior pediatric PT at the local hospital... I know - let's try and imagine the odds of having living across the street. She tried to flex the fingers, and found the tiniest bit of give in one of the joints on the middle finger, but complete stiffness in the ring finger.

"Thanks for the pictures--fingers are healing, no infection. They will shrink tremendously once fully healed, although will be a long road for you guys. Keep up the yeoman's work!"
